Five years ago, I took the first step towards fulfilling my dream that started in my childhood growing up in the 70s’ South Korea.
During that time and place, artistic pursuits were seldom encouraged and art education beyond the basic school curriculum was a luxury that my family couldn’t afford. It’s been simmering all these years in the back of my mind waiting to come to the fore.
One day I saw a listing for painting classes at a botanic garden and that became the green light for me to start the journey to experience art as a practitioner and to explore the creative process & the myriad of possibilities that art offered.
I consider myself very fortunate to have found an exceptional instructor and a supportive community of artists. They have encouraged me and helped me discover my unique voice and hone my craft.
One significant change I’ve noticed since embarking on this journey is how I perceive my surroundings. I now actively observe the world around me, striving to see beyond the mere objective image, in hopes of discerning deeper insight into what we see.
